The Past 4 Days
We have been some what busy these past four days....much too busy for blogging!
Friday night, Emma started a new gymnastics class. She absolutely loves it. Emma is one of three Emma's in her class (I kinda figured that would be the case when we named her). She did exceptionally well for her first class. Emma's favorite thing is the balance beam. She learned to do a front roll on the beam (with a spotter). The only picture I have of her doing that, is the first time and she almost fell off! :) The pictures are a little blurry as we were upstairs in the parents observation room.

Saturday, I cleaned house and we just hung out a home. We played outside that evening. Travis was working late, so we had a dance party in Emma's room. It was super fun! We also played babies and put them ALL to sleep in Hannah's bed.

Sunday, we did more of the same. Parker Stearns came over and played for a little while. The girls enjoyed having someone else to play with besides each other. Sunday night, after bath, Emma wanted curly hair again. While I was putting the sponge rollers in her hair, Hannah decided she wanted in on the action. I got two rollers in that mullet of hers. She wore them up until bed time and decided she wasn't too excited about sleeping in them. It was cute

Tonight, we had Emma's Pre-K Open House and Meet the Teacher. It was good. There are 15 kids in her Pre-K class. Most of them, she had been to daycare with, so she was glad to see some familiar faces. I didn't take any pictures, but the class room is so cute. They do lots of fun activities and go on Field Trips in the spring. Emma is so excited. This weekend, we go to buy her school supplies! I am excited for her and glad she is prepared for this transition, but it does make me a little sad! I know I will be a basket case when she starts Kindergarten...I don't even want to think about it!

Curly Sue
Last night, Emma said she wanted curly hair for school today. So, we broke out the old school sponge rollers and put them up. She slept in them and the results are beautiful! See below for the pictures!

Arty Crafty
While I was on maternity leave, I started painting some letters for Hannah's wall in her room. I had a brilliant idea. Well, over a year later, I finally finished my brilliant idea. I think I am pretty "Arty Crafty"...at least that is what I have been calling myself all weekend! :)

For GrandDa...
Hannah is a blankey baby and she has always been very partial to a green, pink and white blankey. I stole it away this weekend to wash it while Emma and Hannah were playing. Hannah went in her room to her blanket drawer and started ripping all the blankets out of the drawer and rubbing each one on her face (I am assuming in search of the "blankey" and to see if any could pass the lovey test). None seemed to do and she started fussing. Finally, she happened across a very special blanket that I don't let her use often because I don't want her to mess it up. She immediately rubbed it on her face, looked at it and wrapped it around herself. GrandDa, you better get to knitting...because that blanket is now the new "blankey". Even after her regular blankey got out of the dryer, she only wanted her yellow one!

Sweet Words
For a long time, I thought something was seriously wrong with Hannah. I know you aren't supposed to compare your kids to each other, but Emma was the only milestone "benchmark" I had to judge Hannah's progress on. Hannah did all of the motor skills well ahead of what Emma had done. However, Emma could speak in full sentences at her first birthday. Hannah...could not. I was extremely bothered by this and thought maybe something was wrong with Hannah (I know...I'm crazy...but I am just saying!) So, at her last visit with Dr. Lovell, we were talking about this. He did think I was crazy and told me so. Come to find out, Emma was EXTREMELY advanced and her talking that well was not normal. He told me that by 18 months, kids should be able to say between 2 and 10 words to be considered average. I breathed a sigh of relief to find out that not only was nothing wrong with Hannah, but she is well on her way to being considered advanced! Below is a video of some of her sweet words...

Toga Day in XNA
Really, it's not toga day in ALL of XNA, I just liked the rhyme. But, it is toga day at Coleman's Children Academy.
As you all know, Emma LOVES pink. So, she couldn't just have a plain white toga. Goodness no! She wanted a PINK toga. So, I took myself and all my crafty wonder (sense the sarcasm) to Hobby Lobby yesterday to find some material for this fabulous PINK toga. I did find some super cute pink and white material. Travis helped me "wrap" Emma up this morning and I tied some white tulle and pink ribbon around her waist to hold it in place. Then, we put her hair in a bun and instead of greenery around her bun ("because that doesn't match"), she work some white feathers around her bun. Cassidie and Kelsie made Emma some cute pink and white flip flops and she wore those to round out the outfit. She looked so cute!
**I was proud of myself because when I dropped her off, she had on the CUTEST toga...BY FAR!(Not that I was judging...)

5 Arms...
This morning was cowgirl/cowboy day at school. They are having a dress up week, the last week before school starts. I digress.
So, Travis and I were getting the girls dressed (of course, I forgot to take a picture). Travis doesn't do hair, especially when it requires a bow, braids or even a cowgirl hat. So, I was brushing Hannah's hair and getting her hair pretty in. Emma was standing there and the conversation went like this:
Emma: "Mommy, I want braids...can you put braids in my hair...Mommy...please...I want braids!"
Mommy: "Emma, I will put your hair in braids after I get Hannah's pulled up. I can't do everything at once."
Emma: "That's why you should grow 5 arms" (pause to think) "Or better, learn to braid with your feet!"
Yes, instead of Emma learning patience, my daughter thinks I should learn to braid with my feet.
