Shhh...

Ok, so I have some TOP SECRET information, but it's just WAY too fabulous not to share:

Amanda Reed made my girls the CUTEST Razorback Tutu's! Here is a sneak peek of what they look like (not on the girls). I am not giving them to them until the first Razorback game, so please don't spill the beans.

Amanda makes all kinds of fabulous, cute items. She makes tutu's, burp cloths, personalized canvases and lots of other stuff. Please visit her at Bibs & Cribs.

Enjoy the Tutu pic, but please know this picture does not even BEGIN to do it justice! I can hardly contain my excitement to see my sweeties in these!

Swimming Lessons

For the past couple of weeks, Emma has been taking swimming lessons. Miss Amanda teaches Emma at her house for an hour a day. She is so patient with Emma and so kind. I was thrilled last night when I went to pick Emma up to find out that she can swim under water by herself! She was a little unsure when this all started, but she has learned to trust Miss Amanda and loves to go! Every day when I pick her up, she asks "Do we have swimming lessons today?" Thanks, Miss Amanda, for working with Emma! We will miss you when you head back to school in a couple of weeks!

I can read

The other day, Emma was laying on the couch with a hand full of books. The conversation went like this:

Mommy: "Emma, what are you doing?"

Emma: "Reading."

Mommy: "Oh...do you know how to read?"

Emma: "No" (pause) "Well, ACTUALLY, I do know how to read. I just read differently from what this book says."

Yeah...that's what I get for trying to have her expand her vocabulary. Actually? Differently? Isn't she just barely 4? My goodness!

Wild Weekend

We had a busy and fun weekend this weekend!

Friday night, we were playing outside as usual. On our nightly walk, Emma had her first bicycle wreck. She is like her mother and doesn't pay attention when she is "driving" and...BAM...off she fell. She had a small scrape on her knee, but is was bleeding! OH THE HORROR! After a bandaid and lots of hugs and kisses she was fine.

Saturday, Mimi and Pawpaw came to visit. We had great visit with them. The girls played so hard and really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. I didn't have my camera out and have no pictures to show! BOOO! But, we did enjoy seeing them. Thanks for coming! We love you guys!

Sunday afternoon, the girls were getting restless, but since it was sooo hott, we just couldn't venture out into the yard to play. We decided to make a trip to the Aquatic Center to let them burn off some of that energy. They had a great time. While it was semi-crowded, it wasn't too bad. Emma and Hannah both had a blast going down the little water slides. I think Travis had the most fun seeing his girls be fearless!

I have found the spawn of Satan! Yes...you heard me... it's in my house! For those of you who don't know, when we bought our house it had orange and green shag carpet and wallpaper everywhere! We spend two weeks pulling wallpaper and painting. The guest bathroom was not done because we were in a time crunch. Well, I have been looking at that hideous stuff for long enough and have been working every night to peel it off so I can do a faux finish and paint it. Let me tell you...ITS A PAIN! Please...don't wallpaper your house if you ever plan on moving out of it. Just don't do it for the sake of the people that will move in after you. Chances of them liking your wallpaper is slim and none. So they, like me, will spend hours upon hours of their lives peeling wallpaper to ensure every little sliver is off so it can be painted. What a pain! (enjoy the pics of the LOVELY wallpaper from my guest bathroom!)

Finally for the biggest news of all... HANNAH TEE TEE'D IN THE POTTY!

She has been interested in the potty for a few weeks now, so we bought her a potty, but haven't been trying really hard to get her to use it. Every night before bath and most times we change her diaper, we let her go sit there for a little bit and see if she will go. Last night, before bath she did! We were so excited and so was she! Now...to get her to keep it up....

She IS Hannah Montana, MOM!

This morning, I got educated by my very intelligent 4-year old daughter. What started off with a GMA Exclusive and conversation between Travis and I turned into...well...see below:

Boni: "Travis, did you see on GMA that Miley Cyrus might not be coming back as Hannah Montana?"

Travis: "No. Is she going to?"

Boni: "I am not sure, but I think it would be a horrific career move for her to dump Hannah Montana!"

(and...in chimes Emma)

Emma: HUFF "Miley Cyrus IS Hannah Montana, Mom!

She walked out of the room and left Travis and I rolling with laughter. Oh this child!

Baseball

This weekend, we went to Texarkana to watch Tyler play baseball. He made All Star's this year and they were playing in the National Tournament. We watched them play three games Saturday. The first two games were just pool games and didn't count. They lost one and won the other. But, after that, all the games counted. They won their final game Saturday and won all their games Sunday. Tyler did amazing! He played very well and we were so proud of him! We also got to hang out with Candi, Blake and Taylor. We really enjoyed seeing you guys! Despite the heat, the girls were pretty well behaved. Hannah kept lifting her shirt up to "cool off". Everyone at the ball park got a nice peak of that big 'ol belly of hers!

Umbrellas and Babies

Yesterday afternoon, NWA saw a monsoon. I am serious...it was POURING down rain here. I have one very special child (ahm...Emma) who is TERRIFIED of the rain. She is not scared of the thunder or the lightening, but the actual water falling from the sky...that's scary. She says "I don't like it getting my hair wet." Yes, that's the reason...but we won't go into how prissy she is during this post. And...when I say scared, she cries and gets VERY upset when we have to get out in the rain.

So, yesterday, I broke out an umbrella for her. Now, this is not just any umbrella. It is the single most special umbrella in the world. It was Bea Bea's umbrella. (for those of you who don't know, that's my grandmother who passed away when I was in college and Emma is named for her) So, told Emma all about Bea Bea and her special umbrella and BAM...no more rain fears! In fact, she took that umbrella and walked right outside to "play" in the rain with it. When it was time to come in, she asked if she could go back outside IN THE RAIN with her special umbrella. I knew that during that moment, Bea Bea was smiling down and wondering "Boni, what took you so long to figure that one out!?"

Now...on to babies...

Hannah has decided that she wants to carry a baby around (sometimes babIES). She fell in love with one baby in particular that used to be Emma's...(and trust me, there were LOTS to choose from). During this process, I found out a very endearing quality about my youngest daughter: SHE DOES NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY THE COVER. The baby Hannah picked is naked...and dirty...and ratty...and has had her face/head colored...and is about to lose an arm...and almost as big as Hannah. But, Hannah loves her just the same.

She drags Baby around everywhere. She sleeps with Baby and if for a minute she loses baby, I hear (in the sweetest voice) "Ba-by? Ba-by? Baaaaaaabbbbyyyyy!" Hannah hugs Baby and kisses Baby. Hannah even (not so gently) puts Baby in the wagon for a ride and shares her passy with Baby. She loves Baby and I think Baby loves her because if it wasn't for Hannah she would still be in the "forgotten toy" bin in Emma's room. Baby was rescued from being sent where the forgotten toys go. In these pictures, she had found a second baby. I tried to get her to love that one like she does Baby (it's smaller and cleaner), but no such luck!

Does anyone else notice that all the babies/Barbies in our house are naked!? Why is that?
