Funnies

I used to be really good about recording the funny things the girls did or said, but I've kind of fallen off the wagon. I am here to get back on it. These little moments are so precious and hilarious! I want to remember them forever. So, here are a few from this week.

Catherine and I were looking at our Nativity Scene talking about all of the people and animals. After going through all of them with her, I was "quizzing" her to see if she was getting any of it.

Me (pointing at the wisemen): Catherine, who are they?
Catherine: They are the three wifens.
Me: The wifens?
Catherine: Yeah. The wifens and that one is bringing Jesus his happy birfday cake.

After work one day, I was in my bedroom changing clothes. Hannah was playing in her room and Emma came creeping back to my room. She asked me to come in the kitchen. I finished what I was doing and as I walked towards the kitchen, I could hear Catherine saying "MOOOOOOMMMYYY!".

Me: Emma, where is Catherine? What is she yelling about?
Emma: giggle giggle. Just follow me.
Me (walking through the kitchen into the laundry room and realizing...): EMMA CLAIRE!
Emma: I asked her to see if she could fit in the dog kennel and when she climbed in, I locked it.
Catherine: Pwease let me out!!!

The other day on the way to school, Emma and Hannah were playing with some money and talking about the presidents on them.

Emma (holding up a $10 bill): Hannah, I bet you don't know who this is.
Hannah: That one is too hard. Give me an easy one.
Emma: (holding up a $5 bill): Ok. This one is easy. Look at this guy and tell me who this is?
Hannah (proud grin on her face): PRESIDENT LINCOLN LOGGER

And...to round out the post of craziness, here is a little video.

I cannot make this stuff up people. They are CRA-to tha- Z and I love them!

Weekend Wrap Up: Concerts

Friday afternoon, Travis and I went to Tulsa for the Eric Church concert. We met Jon, Nicole, Cade and his date for dinner and then headed to the BOK Center. The entire concert was great. Live music is probably one of Travis and I's favorite thing to go do together. We both LOVE IT!

Saturday morning, we headed home and declared it "Family Christmas Movie Night". We ordered pizza, turned on the Christmas lights, popped popcorn and watch Elf. We all love that movie and had fun snuggling on the couch in our PJ's.

Sunday night, we went to the Christmas Concert at our church. I love our church, but I especially love it this time of year. The music. The lights. It's amazing. My favorite part is lighting the candles and singing Silent Night by candle light. It gives me chills every time.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Happy Monday!

Word.

On the way to Dallas, Hannah taught Emma a "cheer" that she learned from a friend at school. While we were in the hotel room, they wanted to perform for the camera.

Lord help me...these two are crazy!

Weekend Wrap Up: Limo Style

This weekend was pretty low key. Friday night, we hung out at the house and got most of the Christmas decorations up. We still need to finish the outside. Once that's done, I will post pictures of our cozy, Christmas house!

Saturday, the girls and I hung out at home and just played. It was uneventful and fun. Saturday night, Emma and I went to Claire's "Rockin' Limo Birthday" Party. Rachel got a limo and we drove down to Fayetteville to see the lights on the square. Then, we picked up pizza and had pizza and cupcakes in the limo. We drove around a while longer while the girls danced and laughed the night away. It was an awesome party. Emma had a ball!

Sunday, we went to church and lunch with our friends. Then, we took our Sunday afternoon naps, (everyone except Travis...he doesn't like naps....he's weird!) and went to the movies.

It was a great weekend!

Thanksgiving 2012: Dallas Trip

Our Thanksgiving fun continued with a girls trip to Dallas on Friday. We got up and headed out of town about 10am. My mom told my dad all she wanted for her birthday (which is December 1st) was a trip with the girls of the family to Dallas. (Unfortunately, Nicole couldn't come because she had other family things going on).

We got to Dallas and checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Westin that is attached to the galleria. So, we parked the car and never used it again until Sunday! Our room had an American Doll bed for the girls' dolls.

After a little shopping,  we went to dinner at Mi Cocina and let the girls ice skate. Catherine decided she didn't want to, so we just watched "the sisters" skate and fall.

Hannah would get going and laugh. The laughing would make her fall. The falling would make her laugh harder...it was a vicious cycle. Emma was a little leery at first, but she actually caught on and did really great for her first time. They both loved it!

After that, we were exhausted. So, we headed back to our room to get ready for bed. What fun is a hotel stay without new matching PJs?

Saturday, we slept until about 8:30, which is late for my girls. We got ready and headed to breakfast. Catherine walked into a glass wall that she thought was the doorway. It was hilarious and the highlight of breakfast!

(Notice a trend...we are pretty clumsy in our family!)

Saturday, we shopped until we dropped. The girls had a blast shopping and were SO good. We took a late nap and got ready for dinner. This was THE night...the night the girls had been so patiently waiting for. We went to dinner at the American Girl Bistro!

The girls had so much fun laughing and "feeding" their dolls. Then, we went downstairs and browsed the store. The girls picked out one outfit for their dolls and completely over-hauled their Christmas lists to include American Girl things.

Then, it was back to the hotel room to get ready for bed...and another set of new matching PJs!

We had so much fun and decided we should make it an annual trip!

Thanksgiving 2012

I just love Thanksgiving. It's like the "kick-off" to the holiday season with so much family fun packed into the next month. Not to mention, we have SO much to be thankful for.

Tuesday, Catherine and I picked up "the sisters" from school. (That's what Catherine calls them...and I love it!). We had the car loaded with bags and snacks for the road and we headed to Hot Springs.

Once we got there, we had yummy drinks and dinner. Then, we sat around laughing at Daddy Brooks and his many impersonations. I actually caught his "French" accent on camera. You.are.welcome.

Wednesday, my mom and I tag teamed playing with the girls in between working from her house. Wednesday evening, we went to dinner at the Country Club, hello fried chicken night, and headed to Garvan Gardens to enjoy the lights.

We got there and I snapped two pictures. Emma took off running to a tree with green lights that she wanted me to take her picture in front of. But, in the process, her feet got tangled up and she bit the dust...literally. She fell and broke her fall with her face. (Safe to say she gets her grace from her mother.) Poor girl was such a trooper.

My dad scooped her up and covered her face to stop the bleeding for the walk to the front, luckily we weren't far. Hannah and Catherine were screaming and crying more than Emma because it scared them. I was a couple of steps behind my dad and saw a girl and guy stop and start to go after him. It took about 2 seconds to realize they thought he was kidnapping her. A big man, covering a crying little girl's face and dragging her out...yeah...didn't look good. I explained what happened to them and am actually very thankful there are people in this world who pay attention to things like that and are willing to take action.

So, we cut our adventure short and headed home to doctor Emma's face and go to bed.

Thursday, the girls and I got up and got ready to head to DeQueen for Thanksgiving lunch with Travis's Mimi and the rest of his family. Travis hunts the first part of the week of Thanksgiving, so we meet him there. We always have so much fun visiting them. They live on a farm and the girls love the cows, horses and dogs. (I forgot my camera...and my phone...BAD BONI!)

Thursday evening, we headed back to Hot Springs for Thanksgiving dinner. My grandparents came over and Jon and Nicole came. We ate, visited and played Sequence. It was a busy and fun day!

Stay tuned for more Thanksgiving excitement...
