Williamson Winter Wonderland

Thursday, I left work early and headed home. Travis and the girls were there waiting. We settled in to get ready for some freezing rain, sleet and eventually snow. I was VERY nervous about losing power again. I am pretty sure last year scarred me.

It sleeted most of the night. Friday morning, we woke up to snow. It was snowing and quite possibly the hardest snow fell that I have ever seen! It was amazing! Emma and Travis couldn't stand it and headed outside to play.

Hannah, Catherine and I hung out inside. We baked cookies, cooked dinner and played resturant. It was fun to spend time with the little girls.

It snowed ALL day Friday and well into the evening. Saturday, we got up to about 6 or 7 inches of snow! After much persuading, we got Hannah to go play in the snow and even talked her into going sledding!

She played outside for about 2 mintues. After lunch, we headed out to the big hill to sled. We, of course, didn't have any sleds (why would we...we live in Arkansas for goodness sakes!). So, we improvised...laundry baskets make GREAT sleds! (We tried several stores in the area, but all were sold out of sleds).

On the first run, Hannah and Emma flipped over! Emma laughed...Hannah cried. Needless to say that was the end of sleding for Hannah!

Travis and Emma had a blast! Hannah, Catherine and I stayed long enough to snap some pics and headed back inside.

Today, Hannah has had a fever and isn't feeling well. We have stayed in side loving on her and playing when we can.

It's been pretty low key. Other than a sick Hannah, these snow days have been so fun!

Catherine's 6 month stats

Yesterday morning, Catherine and I dropped the big girls off at school. Then, we headed to Harps to take care of a little preparation for the winter storm headed our way.

She LOVES to go shopping. She especially likes Harps and Target. I am not sure why, but it's probably all the bright lights, because she looks up at the ceiling A.LOT.

Afterwards we headed to visit our FAVORITE pediatrician. Catherine is LONG and LEAN! She weighs 14 lbs 10 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. Dr. Lovell said based on her history, she is growing just fine and is probably just going to be skinny...(Lucky girl!)

What is Catherine up to these days?
  • Sleeps from 7:30 unit I wake her up in the mornings. We even had one weekend when she slept until 9! YAY! (If only the older two had slept in, I would have gotten to as well.)
  • Eats 8 oz every 4 hours of formula.
  • Started veggies. She loves squash and carrots are growing on her...not literally.
  • Rolls over both ways. I never know where she is going to be laying when I go to get her up in the morning.
  • Sits up like a pro.
  • Holds her own bottle.
  • Loves her exersaucer and anything that bounces.
  • Likes for us to hide and jump out at her.
  • Loves her sisters and to go in their room.
  • Loves to be held.
  • Babbles all the time.
  • Still growls some.
  • Blows raspberries.
She is getting so big and really developing a personality. Funny thing, Emma and Hannah are DIFFERENT as night and day. I thought, "Catherine will be more like one or the other". She is proving me wrong. She is not like either one of them personality wise. I can't wait to see what other surprises she has in store!

Catherine, you are growing into such a big girl. I can hardly believe 6 months has passed (I say that every month). You are so smart and fun. We love you SO much!

Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

While I enjoyed the first batch of snowfall that you sent our way this year and tollerated the second, I think what you are planning for Thursday and Friday is NOT going to work for me and my family.

I have lived through 2 ice storms already. My wound from the ice storm of last year is still fresh.

When I first heard your forecast, I was ok. You were not calling for much ice, just tons of snow. I was not thrilled with my girls missing more school, but hey...I could live with it.

However, the weather blog I read says you are about to dump about 1.5 inches of ice on my head followed by 5 inches of snow. My tree limbs are going to break off and our deep freeze full of food will probably be a total loss, yet again.

Please...I am begging you...disipate this storm, send it further north or south...just please do NOT drop this on us. I cannot handle another moment without power with not just two this year, but three children and my husband trapped in the house.

Love always,

Mommy's LATE again...

I can't believe it! You would think since I am the third child, my Mommy would have this monthly posting thing down to an art...but...she forgot...AHH-GAIN!

I turned 6 months old on Sunday. She didn't forget on Sunday! I bet she said a million times "CATHERINE GRACE! YOU'RE 6 MONTHS OLD!

Even my big sisters kept telling me I am 0 1/2 now! Must be a big deal. Daddy kept hugging me saying "You're growing too fast baby girl!" (and he rubbed his itchy beard on my face.)

I heard Mommy telling Daddy we go see Dr. Lovell tomorrow. I sure do like him, but I hope he doesn't give me shots this time! THEY HURT!

My Mommy will post all about what I am doing these days after our appointment. (If she forgets, I will handle it!).

Arkansas vs. Texas

Tuesday night, Travis and I went to the Razorback basketball game with our friends, the Peschels and the Pitts.

I knew it was going to be a fun night for a few reasons. First, we were in a suite with a walkout balcony. Second, we went with a bunch of Texas fans. Finally, Fortson was back...our odds went way up in Vegas after that announcement.

We had tons of fun! Travis and I yelled loud for the Hogs, but probably not as loud as Chad and Cassidie did for Texas! ha! The game was super close until the last two minutes.

We lost and I was sad...

Thanks, Cass, for harrasing me in my time of mourning

A new year = A new trick

LOOK WHAT CATHERINE CAN DO!!!

Editor's note: Yes, her Daddy dressed her. Yes, we continued to take her pictures even though she was not happy about it. :) Yes, she can sit up for an extended period of time...until she realizes she is sitting alone!

**The boppy is just there to make her falls a little less hard.

A Snowy Day in NWA

Saturday night, we went to bed and had plans to run errands, go to a movie and do some fun family stuff Sunday afternoon.

We got up and  SNOW!

Emma was DYING to go out and play. Hannah wasn't to sure about it, but decided to get bundled up and head out.

Emma had a blast! She made snow angels, had a snowball fight with Daddy and they built a snowman. (Thanks for the snowman kits, Honey!)

**Yes, I know Emma didn't have gloves on in most of the pictures. #1 she refused and #2 we could only find one of hers. Mother of the year over here!

Hannah...well...see for yourself...

Long time coming...

So, about a month ago, we had family pictures taken by the AMAZING Faith Ames! (click here to check out her website).

We met her at Old Main and she snapped away. How in the WORLD she managed to get these great pictures of the ENTIRE family is beyond me. She is simply amazing!

If you need pictures taken, check her out. She does a great job and her patience with kids (bossy ones - Emma, wild ones - Hannah, or tiny babies - Catherine) is a gift! Thanks, Faith!

**I had to wait to post these because there were a few Christmas presents associated with these wonderful pictures. FYI...the Grands LOVED them!
