When I was younger, I was always pretty clumsy. I can remember one time I was walking through our house and we had white columns near the living room. I was talking to my mom and walked face first into one of them...and we had lived there for several years!
In High School, I played basketball. My dad and some of the other dad's used to bet whether I would fall or foul first. I am sure 7 out of 10 times, fall was the winner. (And, there are so many things wrong with this little fact of my life...I mean, come on DAD!?)
During that time, Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" was really popular. I loved the song and even had to CD. (Ironic, huh?).
After last summer, I am pretty sure I took the chorus of "I get knocked down, but I get up again..." to a WHOLE new level. Ha! So, I have officially declared this my theme song. HAPPY FRIDAY!
I have liked Blake Shelton since he sang the song "Austin". But, I really REALLY started to like him when I started following him on twitter. Finally, we watched him on "The Voice" and I loved him! He has personality for days. He is a no nonsense kind of guy with the best sense of humor!
So, it's only fitting that my iPod is flooded with his music. I bought his new CD and this first song on it is just hilarious. It reminds me of DeQueen...and Travis! I found the clean version on YouTube.
It's hard to believe that I started this blog in June 2007. We had only been a family of 4 for about 3 months at the time. I actually was prompted to start blogging because I loved to read my friend Molly's blog about her family so much. (She doesn't blog anymore. tear)
I don't keep a scrap book. I've tried. But, I am even sad to say that my girls baby books are lacking. GASP! Bad Mom! But, through this blog, I can upload pictures quickly and recap what is going on in our lives. I use this as an outlet. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes I don't have a lot to say. Sometimes (rarely), it's serious. But, this is my hobby.
I blog mostly about what we have been up to in the Williamson house. Occasionally, I will put some of my thoughts on life on here. (like, here and here) I always wish I could find time to do that more often.
I absolutely love that our family reads this little blog and can stay connected in this crazy life that we are living. My grandparents are my most loyal readers! (Shoutout to GrandDa and DaddyBen!)
I've also made some of my best friends through blogging, Rachel and Tara. And, sometimes it's weird to know that I met my best friend on the internet. (When I went to meet her for the first time, Travis was all weirded out that she would be an ax murderer or something!)
But, more than all of that, I absolutely love to look back on this little blog and travel down memory lane. Sometimes, we all gather on the couch around the iPad and look through the pictures and watch the funny videos of the girls. It's our little digital scrapbook.
It's finally Friday! WOOOOOHOOO! This week has been the longest week. I thought it was Wednesday on Tuesday and that just threw me all off. You know what a bummer it is when you realize your a day ahead of yourself? It's a big one!
I absolutely love this song. It describes God so well.He is The Great I am. It pumps me up! Enjoy!
So, if you have read this blog very long, you know I LOVE music. Travis loves music. My girls love music. Whether we are dancing in the kitchen, praising God on Sunday morning, jamming out in the car or headed to George's for a Red Dirt Concert....we are a music loving family.
I remember as a kid my parents loving music. My grandpa can play the guitar like a boss and I am pretty sure my dad can play the banjo. (I kid you not people...the BANJO!)
I am not sure why I love it so much, but I especially love a song that relates so perfectly to my little life or my family that I feel like it was written for us. So, as a part of my attempt at blogging more, I thought that I would start "Friday's Music". I'll share a little of what I'm listening to or what gets us going in the mornings on here.
It thrilled me when my SIL, Nicole, sent me a text with the link to a youtube video for a song with the comment "This song is Travis made over!"
I listened to the song and got all teary-eyed. Because...yes...this is my sweet, mans-man, three-daughter-loving, prissy-wife-having husband to a T!
