I am back with a long over-due installment of Weekend Wrap-Up.
(I won't bore you with my promises of getting back on the blogging band wagon and blah blah blah...but I am trying, people!)
Friday night, we went to dinner with some friends. They always ask us to dinner, but they eat so early compared to us; I am talking 6pm early. We usually don't have it together to go out to dinner that early, but Friday night, we made it happen! :)
After dinner, we went to Target to shop for our angel tree child. Travis and I always worry about whether we are raising the girls to have a giving heart. It's hard to help them understand just how blessed they are and that every child isn't as fortunate as they are. So, to help instill a little of that during this season of thanks and giving, we decided to make sure a child feels as happy and blessed as they do on Christmas morning. We chose a little boy and HOW MUCH FUN did we have shopping for boy things!? Travis went nuts in the race car and nerf gun isles. It was a wonderful night and I am happy to say, the girls didn't ask for a single thing for themselves.
Saturday, we spent the day taking the girls to birthday parties. Emma went to Claire's Cookie decorating party. She had so much fun and it was such a cute little party!
Catherine had a Princess Party at Monkey house complete with face painting. To say this child was happy, is an understatement. Oh...and she got these sweet glasses with a nose and mustache.
Hannah spent the day hanging out with Travis. At one point, she even set up a "salon" and fixed his hair. (No pictures, sorry!) But, I did snap a picture of Gus dressed up thanks to Hannah.
During the week, we always have pretty quick meals. So, on Saturday nights, I try to cook something a little more involved...and usually southern fried. Travis killed two deer so far this year, so I cooked some of that with mashed potates, gravy, corn on the cob and biscuts. MMMM!
Sunday was church, laundry and house cleaning day. It was a fairly uneventful weekend, but it was a good one! We are so looking forward to Thanksgiving and time with our family.
