Our Beach Adventure (Part 2)

By Monday, Catherine was feeling much better and we were all super excited to get to spend some time at the beach with out Catherine and one of the adults missing.

Emma LOVED the water. My dad ran and bought some boogie boards for Emma and Hannah (and maybe the adults too!). Emma spend the day riding waves, jumping around in the water and having a blast. She even bit the dust a couple of times off the boogie board, but that didn't stop her. She just jumped up and got back out there!

Hannah wasn't super fond of the water. She would run out there to get some water to make her "salad soup" (read: bucket of sand and water). She cooked with the sand, water and all her toys. She would run around feeding everyone a bite. (Remember, she wants to be a Sonic cooker and I think with that "salad soup", she is well on her way!)

Catherine ate and ate. She HATED the sand. But, my Mom took her out to the water and she LOVED it. The whole time we took her out there, she was trying to dive out of our arms into the ocean. If we let her stand in the water, she was trying to take off! Finally, she wore herself out and took a nap under the umbrella.

While Catherine was napping and the other two were playing, we all enjoyed laying out, reading books and just enjoying the relaxation. It was wonderful.

That night, we cooked fajitas. While they were cooking, the girls were playing around the coffee table. Catherine wanted to get to me on the couch and just turned around and walked to me! TWO WHOLE STEPS! We all started cheering for her and the smile on her face is forever etched in my mind. She was SO proud of herself. I wanted to see if it was a fluke, so, I put her back at the table and called her to me. She turned and did it again. So, it's official, we have a walker!

That same night, we celebrated Nicole's birthday. We had a delicious cake. After dinner and cake, we sat around and played cards.

Tuesday, it was more of the same on the beach. There was a storm rolling in, so we only got to stay out until lunch. We played in the water, built sand castles, went for walks on the beach, napped. Ahh...I love vacation!

Tuesday night, we went to dinner at Florida's Old Fish House. It was SO yummy.

Catherine is my sleeping child. She goes to be between 7 or 7:30 and sleeps until about 8. So, when we got home from dinner, we were sitting out on the balcony and she had a mini-meltdown, (I only call it a mini-meltdown because she is so small...it was really a HUGE fit). Needless, to say, we put her in bed!

So, I am sure you are all dying to hear the stories about tiny noses and rhinestones. I also have two fun "crabby" stories. But, you are just going to have to put on your patient pants...I'll be back soon to fill you in on those!
