Thanksgiving 2012

I just love Thanksgiving. It's like the "kick-off" to the holiday season with so much family fun packed into the next month. Not to mention, we have SO much to be thankful for.

Tuesday, Catherine and I picked up "the sisters" from school. (That's what Catherine calls them...and I love it!). We had the car loaded with bags and snacks for the road and we headed to Hot Springs.

Once we got there, we had yummy drinks and dinner. Then, we sat around laughing at Daddy Brooks and his many impersonations. I actually caught his "French" accent on camera. You.are.welcome.

Wednesday, my mom and I tag teamed playing with the girls in between working from her house. Wednesday evening, we went to dinner at the Country Club, hello fried chicken night, and headed to Garvan Gardens to enjoy the lights.

We got there and I snapped two pictures. Emma took off running to a tree with green lights that she wanted me to take her picture in front of. But, in the process, her feet got tangled up and she bit the dust...literally. She fell and broke her fall with her face. (Safe to say she gets her grace from her mother.) Poor girl was such a trooper.

My dad scooped her up and covered her face to stop the bleeding for the walk to the front, luckily we weren't far. Hannah and Catherine were screaming and crying more than Emma because it scared them. I was a couple of steps behind my dad and saw a girl and guy stop and start to go after him. It took about 2 seconds to realize they thought he was kidnapping her. A big man, covering a crying little girl's face and dragging her out...yeah...didn't look good. I explained what happened to them and am actually very thankful there are people in this world who pay attention to things like that and are willing to take action.

So, we cut our adventure short and headed home to doctor Emma's face and go to bed.

Thursday, the girls and I got up and got ready to head to DeQueen for Thanksgiving lunch with Travis's Mimi and the rest of his family. Travis hunts the first part of the week of Thanksgiving, so we meet him there. We always have so much fun visiting them. They live on a farm and the girls love the cows, horses and dogs. (I forgot my camera...and my phone...BAD BONI!)

Thursday evening, we headed back to Hot Springs for Thanksgiving dinner. My grandparents came over and Jon and Nicole came. We ate, visited and played Sequence. It was a busy and fun day!

Stay tuned for more Thanksgiving excitement...
