Toga Day in XNA

Really, it's not toga day in ALL of XNA, I just liked the rhyme. But, it is toga day at Coleman's Children Academy.

As you all know, Emma LOVES pink. So, she couldn't just have a plain white toga. Goodness no! She wanted a PINK toga. So, I took myself and all my crafty wonder (sense the sarcasm) to Hobby Lobby yesterday to find some material for this fabulous PINK toga. I did find some super cute pink and white material. Travis helped me "wrap" Emma up this morning and I tied some white tulle and pink ribbon around her waist to hold it in place. Then, we put her hair in a bun and instead of greenery around her bun ("because that doesn't match"), she work some white feathers around her bun. Cassidie and Kelsie made Emma some cute pink and white flip flops and she wore those to round out the outfit. She looked so cute!

**I was proud of myself because when I dropped her off, she had on the CUTEST toga...BY FAR!(Not that I was judging...)

5 Arms...

This morning was cowgirl/cowboy day at school. They are having a dress up week, the last week before school starts. I digress.

So, Travis and I were getting the girls dressed (of course, I forgot to take a picture). Travis doesn't do hair, especially when it requires a bow, braids or even a cowgirl hat. So, I was brushing Hannah's hair and getting her hair pretty in. Emma was standing there and the conversation went like this:

Emma: "Mommy, I want braids...can you put braids in my hair...Mommy...please...I want braids!"

Mommy: "Emma, I will put your hair in braids after I get Hannah's pulled up. I can't do everything at once."

Emma: "That's why you should grow 5 arms" (pause to think) "Or better, learn to braid with your feet!"

Yes, instead of Emma learning patience, my daughter thinks I should learn to braid with my feet.

Happy Birthday, Kelsie!

Yesterday, we went to Kelsie's birthday party. She is Cassidie's daughter and she turned 10! We had a great time eating pizza and cake. Kelsie got so much stuff. Emma loved playing with Ashton (Cassidie's son) and the other girls at the party. Thanks for having us!

Time flys when your having fun!

I was looking at some pictures on my computer today from last year. I can hardly believe how quickly time passes. With each passing day, life seems to go faster and faster. Here are some pictures from this time last year of the girls up next to current pictures. Makes me want to find the "life remote" and either pause everything or at least put it in slow motion! (tear...)

Shhh...

Ok, so I have some TOP SECRET information, but it's just WAY too fabulous not to share:

Amanda Reed made my girls the CUTEST Razorback Tutu's! Here is a sneak peek of what they look like (not on the girls). I am not giving them to them until the first Razorback game, so please don't spill the beans.

Amanda makes all kinds of fabulous, cute items. She makes tutu's, burp cloths, personalized canvases and lots of other stuff. Please visit her at Bibs & Cribs.

Enjoy the Tutu pic, but please know this picture does not even BEGIN to do it justice! I can hardly contain my excitement to see my sweeties in these!

Swimming Lessons

For the past couple of weeks, Emma has been taking swimming lessons. Miss Amanda teaches Emma at her house for an hour a day. She is so patient with Emma and so kind. I was thrilled last night when I went to pick Emma up to find out that she can swim under water by herself! She was a little unsure when this all started, but she has learned to trust Miss Amanda and loves to go! Every day when I pick her up, she asks "Do we have swimming lessons today?" Thanks, Miss Amanda, for working with Emma! We will miss you when you head back to school in a couple of weeks!

I can read

The other day, Emma was laying on the couch with a hand full of books. The conversation went like this:

Mommy: "Emma, what are you doing?"

Emma: "Reading."

Mommy: "Oh...do you know how to read?"

Emma: "No" (pause) "Well, ACTUALLY, I do know how to read. I just read differently from what this book says."

Yeah...that's what I get for trying to have her expand her vocabulary. Actually? Differently? Isn't she just barely 4? My goodness!

Wild Weekend

We had a busy and fun weekend this weekend!

Friday night, we were playing outside as usual. On our nightly walk, Emma had her first bicycle wreck. She is like her mother and doesn't pay attention when she is "driving" and...BAM...off she fell. She had a small scrape on her knee, but is was bleeding! OH THE HORROR! After a bandaid and lots of hugs and kisses she was fine.

Saturday, Mimi and Pawpaw came to visit. We had great visit with them. The girls played so hard and really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. I didn't have my camera out and have no pictures to show! BOOO! But, we did enjoy seeing them. Thanks for coming! We love you guys!

Sunday afternoon, the girls were getting restless, but since it was sooo hott, we just couldn't venture out into the yard to play. We decided to make a trip to the Aquatic Center to let them burn off some of that energy. They had a great time. While it was semi-crowded, it wasn't too bad. Emma and Hannah both had a blast going down the little water slides. I think Travis had the most fun seeing his girls be fearless!

I have found the spawn of Satan! Yes...you heard me... it's in my house! For those of you who don't know, when we bought our house it had orange and green shag carpet and wallpaper everywhere! We spend two weeks pulling wallpaper and painting. The guest bathroom was not done because we were in a time crunch. Well, I have been looking at that hideous stuff for long enough and have been working every night to peel it off so I can do a faux finish and paint it. Let me tell you...ITS A PAIN! Please...don't wallpaper your house if you ever plan on moving out of it. Just don't do it for the sake of the people that will move in after you. Chances of them liking your wallpaper is slim and none. So they, like me, will spend hours upon hours of their lives peeling wallpaper to ensure every little sliver is off so it can be painted. What a pain! (enjoy the pics of the LOVELY wallpaper from my guest bathroom!)

Finally for the biggest news of all... HANNAH TEE TEE'D IN THE POTTY!

She has been interested in the potty for a few weeks now, so we bought her a potty, but haven't been trying really hard to get her to use it. Every night before bath and most times we change her diaper, we let her go sit there for a little bit and see if she will go. Last night, before bath she did! We were so excited and so was she! Now...to get her to keep it up....

She IS Hannah Montana, MOM!

This morning, I got educated by my very intelligent 4-year old daughter. What started off with a GMA Exclusive and conversation between Travis and I turned into...well...see below:

Boni: "Travis, did you see on GMA that Miley Cyrus might not be coming back as Hannah Montana?"

Travis: "No. Is she going to?"

Boni: "I am not sure, but I think it would be a horrific career move for her to dump Hannah Montana!"

(and...in chimes Emma)

Emma: HUFF "Miley Cyrus IS Hannah Montana, Mom!

She walked out of the room and left Travis and I rolling with laughter. Oh this child!
