Weekend Wrap Up: Happy Birthday, Hannah!

This weekend was so much fun! Friday night, my friends and family threw me a surprise birthday party (more on that in another post).

I didn't post it, but on Hannah's birthday, we had her party and cake with our little family. She got a camera and thinks she is big stuff now! Happy little girl!

Saturday, we had Hannah's birthday party with her friends. She wants a "girls day" with two of her favorite friends. So, at lunch time, we picked up Anniston and Reese for a day of fun!

First up, lunch at Mojitos. Hannah got the "Mexican-food-obsessed" gene from me. She and I could eat it EVERY day! While we were there, she opened her gifts from her sweet friends.

After lunch at Mojitos, I took the girls to get pedicures. They were so funny just chatting away while getting their toes done. They all had a ball.

Finally, we went to the movies. The girls loved it and at the end, no one wanted to go home! :(

Sunday, we spent the day playing outside and enjoying the sunshine after church. It was a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday, Hannah!

Today, my sweet little Hannah turns 6! Can you believe it!?

I remember it like it was yesterday. Hannah was the.fussiest.baby.ever! I thought that I had forgotten how to care for an infant because she fussed and cried SO much. But, we made it through.

Now, she is possibly the happiest, smiliest little girl I know. She is always flashing those dimples and, much like Daddy Brooks said, they have kept her out of trouble a few times.

I often look at her (and the other two girls) and wonder why in the world God trusted me to take care of them. I feel so blessed beyond what I deserve and Hannah is one of the big reasons why.

Hannah,
How can you be 6 years old? It seems like just yesterday I was writing you a letter wondering how you could be 3. I am so proud of the little lady you are becoming. Daddy and I were a little nervous about you starting kindergarten because you have SO much energy. But, that was all for nothing. You have blossomed into an exceptionally bright and helpful little kindergartner. You are reading and writing stories that just blow me away. Mrs. Banks always tells us how smart you are and how much you love to help everyone else in the class, (maybe you're a tiny bit bossy.). Your sisters love you so much. Emma thinks you are the funniest person in the world when you talk in your crazy voices. Catherine adores you and wants to do everything you do. You have a knack for remember every word to every song after hearing it only a couple of times. Your laugh is one of the best laughs around. It is so loud and contagious. You are quite the negotiator when you want something and never forget anything. Daddy always talks about how prissy and girly you are, but loves that you want to go fishing with him constantly (even if you do wear a dress every time!). You are so particular about how things are done and keeping a schedule. I laugh all the time when you have to wear socks because, much like me, you HATE socks. I can always count on you to be willing to help me do chores. You still want to wear a dress every day. Dance is one of your favorite things and you are very good at it. Daddy signed you up for tee-ball this year and you are very excited. You make our lives so complete. Your big eyes and dimpled smile are so special just like you. Church is one of your favorite things and you are so diligent about learning your memory verse. We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what God is going to do with you! It's gonna be big, sweet girl!

I love you!
Mommy

He Is Risen!

We have had another wonderful Easter spent with family celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus!

Friday night, we went to my parents. We love to go there for holidays because, not only do we get to spend the holiday with them, but we also get lots of QT with my grandparents.

Saturday, my dad and Travis went fishing...in the rain. (GROSS!) My mom, the girls and I went to the Country Club to eat lunch, decorate and hunt eggs. It was fun, despite my inner control freak losing her mind during egg decorating.

(I am serious. It gives me anxiety. The dye on the fingers. The constant battle to get them to leave the eggs in a little longer so they will be bright. Lord help me!)

Saturday night, we had dinner and celebrated Hannah's upcoming 6th birthday. (How is my sweet middle child 6 years old!?)

Sunday, we got up and went to church with everyone. It was a fantastic message about Mary Magdalene and not letting our fear cause us to miss the hope that is ever present in Him. Then, it was back to the Country Club for Easter lunch.

What a wonderful Easter! We are so thankful for Easter and everything it has saved us from! Praise the Lord!

Happy Anniversary

Travis and I have been married 9 years.

How amazing it is to be married to my best friend. This guy laughs with me (and at me). He holds my hand when I cry. Travis lets me throw a fit if I need to (and tells when when I need to grow up and deal) and encourages me when I feel like life is beating me up.

Nine years ago, my dreams of becoming his wife came true. We have had some trials and hard times. Marriage isn't all rainbows and butterflies. It's not a movie-esque love story 100% of the time.

But, this is our love story. I can't wait to see what adventures the next chapter holds. I love you, Travis!
